After over 15 years of creating class-A amplifiers we went in a new direction, class-D! This is a new technique whereby the power transistors are used as switches at a high frequency. That's an analogue system and in our designs we use the Philips patent on a special type of configuration, the so-called UcD technique, UcD meaning Universal Class D.
The advantages of Class-D are:
- Excellent sound quality noless then our well known Class-A models. Detail, definition, spaciousness, it's all real High End Audio quality or, better, audiophile quality.
- The high efficiency (>90%) giving a substantial saving on the used energy. So it's a good thing for the environment as well.
- Because of the high efficiency there's few heat dissipation and the power supply can be smaller then with class-B or class-A.
